applications, so its hundreds of
dealers throughout the world can have online and offline access to the most up-to-date
product support information in multiple languages 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The
Net-Compass Internet applications, are hosted by Snap-on Business Solutions, ensuring that
Alamo dealers have instant access 24 hours a day to real-time data and support for items
such as parts and service manuals, operator instructions, bulletins and safety
instructions.
By using the Net-Compass Ordering Module, Alamo dealers have real-time access to parts
inventory and pricing, the ability to submit parts orders and to monitor the status of
those orders. Snap-on's XML-based Ordering module interfaces with Alamo's JD Edward's ERP
system further reducing customer down time, increasing customer satisfaction, and
providing an environment for increased parts sales.
Alamo also chose to implement Snap-on Business Solutions' Document Center Pro application.
This database driven Internet publishing tool allows Alamo to create and update their
technical documentation in a centralized and time efficient manner while also effectively
streamlining its technical publications process, whether the data is published to paper,
CD-ROM or the Internet. Since Document Center Pro is Internet based, any authorized Alamo
user in the world can update or maintain technical support data therefore reducing both
editing efforts and time to market for publications.
